Hi Massimo,
In addition to the link Doug posted, you need to review
https://www.arcanoae.com/wiki/arcaos/installation-planning/virtual-machine-configuration/oracle-vm-virtualbox/
BASEDEV=DANIS506.ADD /!BIOS
BASEDEV=OS2AHCI.ADD
As the link notes, you want to configure the VM for an IDE controller and
use DANIS506 only.
While AHCI and NVME are faster on real hardware, this is not the case
in a
VM.
do clamscan benefit of multi-core environment (6 cores)?
Probably not in a VM. You need to test this on your setup.
storage setup on the vbox is IDE IHC6
You probably should to REM out the
BASEDEV=OS2AHCI.ADD
since it's not getting loaded.
Steven
that doc is strange, i use my VMs (except one) with more than one CPU
and they work correctly
i've never seen guest OS lockup, never had data loss, etc.
There is reason this is documented. With some version of Virtualbox SMP support would not work. That is what I seem to recall.
Roderick
Sorry, but..
That docs is wrong, they should explain that it happens only with some version of
virtualbox.
And i'm sure that it happens only with linux as host.
