I don't believe the 100% with Bind and Stunnel are related. As per my later note, I'd expanded some klibc headers to 'stub' some ipv6 functionality. This was to get openvpn building which had no configure flags to disable ipv6 - and it would have been a nightmare to try and "unpick" the ipv6 support.

Something in ths ipv6 support triggered the cpu usage in bind.

stunnel builds have never used this ipv6 support.

We live in a multi-verse :-)

Is there any possibility that this issue is in any way related to the 100%
utilization that Massimo sometimes sees for stunnel?

My current guess on the stunnel issue is that there is a select() loop
that needs to be throttled.  However, I am still waiting to Massimo to be
ready for me to test this theory on his system, via a HelpDesk session.
