Hi all,

today my SRV1/MTA1 have 18th jen. 2025 date, while we are at 17th jen. :)

On startup the script launch a:

ntp 193.204.114.105

193.204.114.105 is one of the Inrim servers that have atomic clocks and do not
have wrong date or hour :)

https://www.inrim.it/it/ricerca/settori-scientifici/tempo-e-frequenza/ntp-network-time-protocol

so i've run at the command line a number of time the command ntp 193.204.114.105

ad it writes this stuff:

ntp.exe 193.204.114.105 Network Time Protocol Client - Version 1.07
(c) Copyright Ralf Christen 1997,1998
Mail to ralf.christen@ibm.net

Selected timeserver is 193.204.114.105
Selected service is DAYTIME at port #13

18/01/25 16:51:23 - 17 JAN 2025 16:51:23 CET

but, if instead i run a:

daytime 193.204.114.105

i get:
01/17/25-16:53:23 time set from 193.204.114.105: (-86401) Fri Jan 17 16:53:23 2025

and the date of the server turn at 17th jen. the right one.

I came back using ntp since in the past i had issues with daytime

Any suggestion?
Throw the NTP and use DAYTIME?
But if it show again issues?

thanks
