As I suspected the mpool logic make quite a bit of different. Theseus
tells me that after everything loads and before some interim data is
releases, the usage is:
hexmath -b 05EE0000 - 10000 + 4BCE3000 - 20000000 / 100000

That's 795MB which compares to the previous 2GB which was not even close
to sufficient. The load time seems a lot faster too, but that's a seat of
the pants measurement.
