FWIW, I cannot replicate massimo's alternate config dir issues. The copy
and rename operations work as expected. Perhaps he's running an antique
version of cp.exe on his system.

i've tried to update CP, but i get
[Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/@unixroot/var/cache/yum/netlabs-rel/959a5065a99df5b5b4d7e8672bbf1b90a4c9135f653d52968d19b4ae0dba9085-primary.sqlite.bz2'
i've done yum clean metadata, but this do not help
so i've done yum clean all and now i get (yum update cp):
