The stock answer is anything can be improved.  Of course, this requires a
developer willing to implement the improvements and the they usual reason

Based on the above, I think you are providing an incomplete answer to my
question.  You say you have 350 subdirectories but only list one  clanscan
command.  Is this example of the command you use and you run this 350
times changing the directory name each time?
