Unless Daniela's drivers are updated, one will get the eCS 1.2R installation CD booted and running, but the SATA hard drive will not be accessable. I used the makedisk.cmd from the 2.0RC4 CD to create the boot disk update. I pulled the files from the latest updates that were available. When one gets the 1st option screen to boot from hard drive or CD, hit esc and insert the diskette before booting to CD. The files on the diskette will get copied to the ram drive image and installed in place of the corresponding files on the installation CD. Select the advanced install path and proceed. Your only choice is to install to HPFS. After installing bootable JFS support, one can convert to JFS. Do not install APM, I don't think it will not work at all. Do not install a sound driver, it will not work either. However, you do want the multimedia support so that UniAud can be added later. I tried UniAud 1.9.3, but it seems to hang when populating the desktop. I then copied in the working uniaud16.sys from eCS 2.0 w/ACPI installed, and it hung opening the WPS as well. I suspect an IRQ issue. I commented out the uniaud drivers and was able to boot normally. Suggestions welcome. Select the null network adapter so that you can install the current GenMac and XWLan later. The wifi adapter is working normally. The gigabit adapter has the same MAC 00 00 00 00 00 00 problem. I have a ticket open on this one, http://svn.netlabs.org/genmac/ticket/5 Boots from the hard drive may hang at COM.SYS and VCOM.SYS. The statements may be commented out of CONFIG.SYS after installation, or by selecting the maintenance console at the end of phase 1 to edit CONFIG.SYS. SNAP will install and work from the installation CD, but you need to install SNAP from the eCS 2.0 CD to get wide screen support. eCS MT 2.2.0.2 can be used to update most of the software, including the installation of SMP support. SMP support runs without ACPI. -- Chuck McKinnis http://www.7cities.net/~mckinnis/os2/ 505-286-3191 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 1 Peter 5:7
