I stumbled a bit over this, but did make some progress that brings out more questions than answers.

First, what I have installed is uniaud114rc2 which has files dated 26Nov06 as I had read that it was the last distribution that contained an install script.  That apparently is not correct because that distribution contains a tools directory and those files were not installed on my system.  I did substitute the 1.94 files before installing that distro.

Q: Should I create \mmos2\tools and place the 4 files there?  If so, does the path or any of the .ini's need to be changed to reflect it?

 1-18-06  1:12p         1,344     61 a---  pcmunlock.exe
 7-31-06  1:37p        40,540     54 a---  uniaud.dll
 3-12-06  3:14a         4,621     61 a---  unimix.exe

Once I corrected my startup.cmd to point to the correct path (my unpack directory in this case) then I was able to boot but did not have sound.

Once I corrected the -savet: to -savec: then I was able to have the system sounds....one time only.  Closing the sounds folder and reopening it and I had no sounds.  I also could not find unimix.ini which should have been in \mmos2.  Once I executed it manually from the directory where it currently lives (\unpak\tools) then unimix.ini was written to \mmos2.  So I think I need to place those 4 files in the correct location, but where is that?  Or should I download a different distribution and if so, which one?

Thanks, Jon

I have uniaud114RC6.zip installed with Paul's latest 1.9.4 replacement for uniaud32.dll.  It should be unzipped to work directory and then use the Multimedia Installer to get everything in the correct directories.

unimix.exe should be in \MMOS2 (F:\ happens to be the Peer link to the T61).
