Diane's T61 has the nVidia chip in it. I wasn't aware that Panorama wouldn't install on the Intel chip. Very interesting.
Lewis, I'm afraid I don't understand your comments...
Starting at the Panorama Home Page:
http://en.ecomstation.ru/projects/panorama/
In the "Panorama VESA video driver" link to:
http://en.ecomstation.ru/projects/panorama/download/hardware.txt
. . . it says:
List of video adapters tested with Panorama VESA:
=================================================
<snip>
Intel 945GM 8086:27A2
Intel Integrated G965 X3000 8086:29A2
Intel 82852GM/GME/GMV/PM, 855GM/GME Montara 8086:3582
While my adpater is the first on this list, I've been reluctant because
I don't know exactly what I have to backup and how difficult it might
be to get back to SNAP.
I downloaded and installed the wpi version for SNAP. I have checked the uninstall in WarpIN, and it will restore back to SNAP if you remove it.
OK, thanks! That's good to know. When I get some time, maybe I'll
give it a go.
OTOH, my power/battery widget seems to work OK. [It's not the beer
barrel style, though. It looks like a battery, blue on the bottom with
a yellow segment that grows as the battery is used.]
Thanks, again.
Carl
I pulled the plug on mine and get the same as you. I have yet to try the "beer" widget to see what it looks like on battery. If it shuts down in 6 minutes, I will not be too happy.
