I have seen the same thing on my T60.  In fact, ISTR that it happened
also on my A30p.  My solution is usually to just let it do its thing
until it comes to a halt.  [i.e., Don't fight it!  It only takes a few
seconds.]  Once it has stopped and become stable, it's OK for a while.
