Subject: T61 and succes with ecs2.0 rc5 report (minor issues)

Hi,

Learned a lot from the list, just a short report about my new T61.
Information about this notebook:
Lenovo ThinkPad T61 T8100 WXP
Core 2 Duo 2.10GHz, 2GB RAM, 160GB HDD,
15.4" WXGA (1280x800), DVD-R/+R DL,
Intel GMA X3100 Shared Memory, GB-LAN,
WLAN 802.11n, Modem, Bluetooth,
Windows XP Professional

It was installed with windows xp, so booted the ecs 2.0 rc 5 cd, shrinked=
 the harddisk (did first a optimalisation of the hard disk in windows xp =
) from the 160 GB, 80 still remains for windows (couldn't shrink windows =

more)
Ecs installed without a problem. 
no sound at first, but network works.
read in the list about the sound, so installed that according and it work=
s, with the latest drives from Paul very good. 
Maybe a bit strange, but also system sounds works good. (yes even on boot=
, no problem).
ACpi works with the switches /SMP /APIC /vbe /r
using the latest bios which is available from lenovo version 2.24

In short great machine, but with a few problems:
-mac address of wired interface is always 00:00:00:00, that's a problem a=
t school, because there are managed switches so no working  network at sc=
hool (at home no problem). Wirelless works great, but also not at 
school because of no support for 802.1x 
- no working keys for sound, but with global keys from xworkplace and cmd=
 files I can put the sound of, (one key) other key I use for initialising=
 sound again, and the key for more sound is linked to the volume object. =

(so it works )
- no possibility to switch to external screen of to switch brightness. Co=
ntacted the makes of escheme which also make crc (central remote control)=
, but at the moment no support for t61, I waiting for something to test.
- suspend won't work, machine goes into suspend, but won't wake-up.
- the dos tool for connecting to the bios works as on the t40, but nothin=
g happens after changing something.
- no sound of the cd-player when an audio cd is used.(don't know why)
