This is not the situation for me.  Almost all of the time, the light is
on solid, even during a large file transfer.  And, when it starts
flashing, I slide the switch and it goes back to solid.

That's strange.  I have had almost zero problem with xWLAN.  I use the
system almost exclusively on WiFi.  I can power off, reboot in a new
location with a new WiFi router, change the profile [I have about ten
profiles.] and it connects immediately.  The only problem I've had is
trying to use T-Mobile in some airports.

[See above.]  And, although I've not tried it lately, I've even been
able to move from WiFi to a Docking Station with Cat-5 and back to WiFi
without rebooting.  My problems moving to/from the Dock are far more
commonly that the system locks up or just powers itself off when it
goes into/out of the Dock.  I don't think that's WiFi or network
related at all.

xWLAN has probably been one of the most stable parts of my environment.
Maybe the difference is my T60 versus your T61.  Maybe one big
difference is my system has a Core Duo [32-bit] and yours is a Core 2
Duo [64-bit].

Thanks for the comments, though.

Carl
