As Mark said, you need to put the sound commands into startup.cmd or run them some other way.
Personally, I have system sounds off because of an occasional hiccup if left on. You only need to
run those commands once since there is a command to save them. Now I just run unimix with the
-loadc parameter. BTW, those commands were first posted by Chuck.
My T61 is the widescreen model. I am running Panorama at 1680x1050x16million. I forget why I
changed from Snap to Panorama but Panorama works better for me. I think it was a booting problem
where sometimes SNAP would take up to 5 minutes to start up. I'd have to go back and check older
emails to remember exactly what the deal was. My video is reported as GM965/PM965/GL960.
I gave up on eCenter, too many hangs and odd things now & then. I use xCenter and rarely
experience a problem. I also experienced problems if I have wLan active on startup, so I start
with the radio disabled and start it manually after booting. This is how I've been doing it for
about a year now and with the changes I've made by going to Panorama, xCenter, & rc6a it may no
longer be necessary but I have not bothered to experiment.
I'm using /smp /apic in my config.sys
My uniaud16 is v1.1.4 & uniaud32 is 1.9.8. I tried uniaud32-20090125 and it trapped. I haven't
tried uniaud114RC7.
