Hi Mark,I now have sound out of the T61 with the 1.9.12 release. I have to use the settings above to get that sound but unimix is now working correctly. I had to remove the /APIC switch in order to boot, otherwise it would freeze.

Overall very good results so far after installing RC6a on a T61. ThePaul's latest HDA build works fine here on my T61, but I have to run a
wireless networking connected immediately upon final boot (to a
neighbor's open wireless network, I then setup a profile for my network
and it connected right up too). Just connected the ethernet and it is
working as well.
I selected the pcmcia as the T42 option and I just put in a modem card
and it was recognized immediately.
I had to select uniaud as the install didn't pick that up and I don't
hear anything. I downloaded the latest version from Smedley's site and
still no sound. I figure I'll uninstall and reinstall and see what I
get. I thought it might just be that I can't hear it as sometimes that
is a problem but unimix doesn't give me any feedback at all, just
flashes away (no popuplog.os2 entries). UnimixPM also will not launch
in the same fashion. The drivers load fine though and look good in
Hardware Manager. 8086 284b -- 82801-ICH8
script (I think Lewis or Chuck gave to me) to initiate sound.
@unimix.exe -id3 -cnt0 -val1> nul
@unimix.exe -id3 -cnt1 -val1> nul
@unimix.exe -id27 -val20> nul
@unimix.exe -saveH:\mmos2\unimix.ini> nul
EXIT
But no problem with running Unimix here so not sure if that will help you.
also wondering if the headphone socket produces sound before you run unimix?
pasha found with latest uniaud on his desktop he needed to switch which socket his speakers were connected to - bit hard to do this on a t61 :)
cheers,
Paul
