A quick link for you: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Category:T61 Unortunately, I couldn't find anything there concerning the SATA details, but I *can* tell you that the factory drives for the T61 are SATA-2 (3.0Gb/s) units. That said, it appears that Lenovo may have a stated company policy supporting 1.5Gb/s and *not* recommending 3.0Gb/s: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=399772 .
