Yes, I was one of the beta-testers for the driver.
It works very well now on my Thinkpad W500.
Should work equally well on similar ones like the T500/T400.

Probably not, but the used code will most likely be newer,
it is a direct port of the latest Linux driver for Gigabit cards.
Perhaps handling of suspend/resume etc is better.
I did not test that myself, never use suspend :-)

Correct, it is for Intel Gigabit ethernet cards only.
