On more than one occasion, I've returned systems to clients on the other side, only to have them rapped for import duty upon arrival. I'm honestly not sure what happens going in the other direction, as I can't recall using an outside service out of the US in recent years. Still, if they have the proper equipment to reflow the solder, then tht is a better choice than the baking alternative (though the machine appears to be doing fairly well, and I've had it going through its paces today).
