OK, I'll try that. I was hesitant to do that without any advise.
That didn't do the job.
With rc4 it stops dead.
With rc3 I can get to the maintenance console but the drive is not
visible to LVM.

With RC3 I suspect that the older Dani driver does not support the SATA chip.
I wonder if the 4 Gb is causing a problem when the CD tries to load into high memory.
