What should the psd= line be? > > Thanks Jon > > Jon, first of all, the OS2APIC.PSD and ACPI.PSD are mutually exclusive. The latter is *not* ACPI aware, but rather, works with SMP machines in a generic mode (certain system manufacturers might provide a PSD specific to the hardware, such as HP (Compaq) Proliant servers. On the T61, what I've found to work best is: PSD=ACPI.PSD /SMP /APIC /SAP:0x20 People have reported mixed results with the /!NOD parameter, which probably was more useful with earlier builds of the ACPI PSD than with the latest ones (>=3.05). The SAP parameter set as it is above forces the ACPI driver to leave some of the interrupts alone and not try to monkey with all of the hardware. I found this necessary with 3.08, whereas it was not with 3.07. Likewise, desktop systems based on the Intel 945 chipset seem to prefer this setting. -- Lewis ------------------------------------------------------------ Lewis G Rosenthal, CNA, CLP, CLE Rosenthal & Rosenthal, LLC Accountants / Network Consultants New York / Northern Virginia www.2rosenthals.com eComStation Consultants www.ecomstation.com Novell Users Int'l www.novell.com/openenterpriseserver Need a managed Wi-Fi hotspot? www.hautspot.com ------------------------------------------------------------
