Can't say. It's been in my notes since the days of 1.7.x which had some
sort of problem finding the certificates. The Let's Encrypt issues
convinced me to automatically support it in some of my git put scripts.

True. I'm not convinced we really need anything special these days since
kLIBC is pretty much complete and the tweaks werer probably for EMX.
