couple of subtle / cosmetic things.

First, if I open the settings dialog from the taskbar and do nothing,
there should not be a difference between press "OK" or "Cancel"
immediately, should it (no changes to apply nor undo)?

As it turns out, if I open the settings dialog, and close it with
*Cancel*, then open taskbar menu again, two things are visible in the
"cancel" 1 and 2 screenshots I am attaching [be careful with this, I can
only reproduce it the first time per boot cycle]:

Hi Alfred

1) lSwitcher fiddles with the Desktop work area: see the background has
moved a bit back up.

I don't see what you are talking about here. The screenshot looks fine and is identical
in desktop spacing to screenshot 2.

No, it is not, but I understand it's difficult to see. It happens in a split second (how long does it take to close a dialog and refresh the screen?) and the resulting image is nearly identical, so it took me a while to spot it.

This is a composite side-to-side version of the two previous screenshots. Hopefully now you can see how each point of reference on the left has its counterpart on the right side further down -- which means the desktop background is stretched downwards when its work area changes.

2) the popup menu is bolded in the "2" screenshot, which reminds me: the
thinner font menu in the first one does *not* fit in with the rest of
the system.

This I see and will try to reproduce. Thanks

Both things happen only the first time you bring up the dialog and close it with "Cancel". Later on, "OK" and "Cancel" behave the same when you make no changes, just as they should.

Thank you,
AFD.
