Okay, Vaughn, a couple things (see my comments throughout your original post):

hi

Ok...I checked my net.cfg file and all seems fine here is mine
My files in the netware directory  match yours....

what do you have enabled in your config sys?

See below.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Link Support
Max Stacks 8

Link Driver DLKFET_nif
               Frame Ethernet_802.2
Frame ethernet_802.3
Frame Ethernet_II
Frame Ethernet_SNAP

The LINK DRIVER section is only required when using the ODI driver. You should be able to safely remove this from your system.

  NETWARE REQUESTER
  CACHE BUFFERS 30
  PROTOCOL NDS BIND
  REQUEST RETRIES 40
  SESSIONS 32
  SIGNATURE LEVEL 1
  TRUE COMMIT 0
  DISCONNECT ON
  LARGE INTERNET PACKETS NEGOTIATED

The NETWARE REQUESTER section heading must be flush left in order for this to be properly read, IIRC.

  TBMI2
  ECB COUNT=30
  DATA ECB COUNT=89
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

and my protocol.ini contents

[odi2ndi_nif]

  DriverName = odi2ndi$
  Bindings = DLKFET_nif
  NETADDRESS = "I0000C0AC840D"
  TOKEN-RING = "no"
  TOKEN-RING_SNAP = "no"
  ETHERNET_802.3 = "yes"
  ETHERNET_802.2 = "yes"
  ETHERNET_II = "yes"
  ETHERNET_SNAP = "yes"
  TRACE = 0x0

If you are actually using 802.2 on the wire (as is probably the case), it MUST (ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY, WITHOUT ANY DOUBT) be listed above 802.3. LAPS breaks this, by defaulting to 802.3 above 802.2, and so you must manually change this (there was a fixup utility with Warp 4 which was to be run after using LAPS; easy enough to edit this with e.exe ot tedit.exe).

My NetWare Requester statements in CONFIG.SYS:

(In my DEVICE= section):

DEVICE=C:\NETWARE\VIPX.SYS
DEVICE=C:\NETWARE\VSHELL.SYS GLOBAL

(My entire Requester section):

REM --- NetWare Requester statements BEGIN ---
SET NWLANGUAGE=ENGLISH
DEVICE=C:\NETWARE\LSL.SYS
RUN=C:\NETWARE\DDAEMON.EXE
DEVICE=C:\IBMCOM\PROTOCOL\ODI2NDI.OS2
REM -- ODI-Driver Files BEGIN --
REM -- ODI-Driver Files END --
REM DEVICE=C:\NETWARE\ROUTE.SYS
REM DEVICE=C:\NETWARE\ODINSUP.SYS
DEVICE=C:\NETWARE\IPX.SYS

RUN=C:\NETWARE\SPDAEMON.EXE
REM DEVICE=C:\NETWARE\NMPIPE.SYS
REM DEVICE=C:\NETWARE\NPSERVER.SYS
