Hi actually I logged into the Tree from NWTOOLS and then re did my drives and saved the setup in the file...so when I rebooted and the login came up again this time it gave me the option to log in to either the tree or the server. So now I login via the tree...not really any different though but I guess I was just only logging into the server and not the tree...

thanks for helping me figure that part out....I kinda think I used to do that a few years back when I could do a lot of management and after NW5 came in .... the utils became a lot more useless....so just making a connection is about all you can do.

But if the client was updated and consoleone could load then eCS would be a viable desktop again  in a netware environment

well after going through all this I don't really see any difference from my config to your config I login just fine if my protocols were wrong it would not find the server.              .... one thing that I do is in my startup.cmd file I have this line in there to auto bring up the Novell client so I just type my password in and all my drives are automatically mapped and connect to queues if I had any.

here is my statement

NWTOOLS O:\NETWARE\MAIN.NWS AUTOEXIT

"main.nws" is my file that I have that is used to do all the mapping ..etc..

what I found is if I type  cx at the prompt, and then go into nwadmin for eCS..........sure I get the tree, but as I said NWADMIN is pretty much useless, it only recognizes about a third of the objects, No Novell licensing, or Zenworks, or, or , or , or, you can check rights to the objects it recognizes but that is about it.
