50 Warp boxes in one place... Sounds like Disneyland to me!! :-)

Stan is too much. ;-) Thanks for relaying his kind words, and for your initial "nudge" to get me to work up a session proposal. I'm really looking forward to it. Hopefully, we'll have enough interested attendees to make the presentation a reality.

I need to spend some more time on warpstock-users. I changed my Yahoo! Groups settings to web only for that one, and left warpstock-team on digest. Since then, about the only thing to come down on warpstock-team has been spam (which is why I host my own lists)...

Lewis,

I am intending on going.  All the topics you suggest sound right on to me
and would be very helpful.  Stan asked on the Warpstock mail group
what people would like to see presented at Warpstock this year and I
mentioned
this topic.  Stan said he knew of a Netware expert that may be willing
to speak, He said the persons name was Lewis  ; - )

We peeled all our process control network off the plant LAN by putting in
all
our own SSR's and servers on existing plant fiber.  We are keeping IPX and
are connected to the plant LAN only through a single fiber through a VLAN
port.  Now I just have to figure out how to keep all this stuff running
since
its mine now and the IT guys are not going to help out on it much longer.

We have about 50 OS/2 warp machines and 2 Netware 6 servers on this LAN.

Subject: OS/2-NetWare Users List: Warpstock 2003 presentation proposal

I've submitted to the Warpstock 2003 speaker coordinator a proposal for
a second presentation at the event this year (I'd previously proposed a
session on wireless networking under OS/2). The title of this
presentation is tentatively "Connecting OS/2 Clients to NetWare
Networks," and proposes to cover the following areas of interest:

  * Current state of the OS/2 NetWare Requester, including an overview
    of the latest patches available
  * Installation & configuration of the requester on an OS/2 or eCS
    workstation, with an eye toward potential traps & pitfalls
  * Techniques for automatic & semi-automatic login
  * Survey of OS/2 functionality under different versions of NetWare
    from 3.12 through 6.0
  * Managing NetWare servers from OS/2 stations: what's possible &
    what isn't
  * Printing under NetWare
  * Workstation backup options in a NetWare environment
  * Newer NetWare client functionality under OS/2 (iPrint, iFolder,
    etc.): what works? how?
  * Support options

Comments? Suggestions? Anyone planning to attend Warpstock in San
Francisco this year?
