Really? I don't see that here (I don't think). Let me try...hang on...(save this draft first, just in case)...15 minutes later (long CHKDSK)...okay, here's what happens:

  1. Logged into NDS as Lewis.NEW_YORK.RR (from my .NWS file)
  2. Logged out of the tree
  3. Logged into the tree as Admin.RR (no trap)
  4. Mapped SYS: to F: (no trap)
  5. Opened a command prompt, changed to F:, ran DIR (no trap)
  6. Logged back into NDS as Lewis.NEW_YORK.RR (loaded my .NWS file) -
     DID NOT LOG OUT FIRST
  7. Trap D (hard) in NWREQ.SYS

I just confirmed it by logging in as Admin.RR first, mapping a drive, browsing, logging out, then loading the .NWS file and logging back in under my name. No trap that time. Notice also that this was a trap in NWREQ.SYS, not in NWIFS.SYS, which is what is happening to me in Leesburg when trying to browse for a printer port to capture.

BTW, the system here is running NW6 SP3 over 100-base-TX ethernet.

Lewis,

Probably no help but I always trap Warp4 with Netware 6 if I try to
login as ADMIN on any of the WARP4 clients.  Mark

I'm seeing an odd trap on my system, after having recreated my print queues on one of my NetWare 6 servers (installed a Smart Array 5i daughterboard in a Compaq ML370 G2, and fully populated the hot swap bays in the box; unfortunately, the Smart Array controller cannot read drives formatted by another ASIC - the onboard Adaptec 160M, in this case - so I had to do a tape restore after building the array).

Loading my settings back up in NetWare Tools skips over my port captures, as the queue IDs have changed (Backup Exec does not necessarily restore the queues themselves; in this case, I had to restore NDS from tape, as well...a mess...but that's another story). No problem; I figured I'd just recature them. However, upon attempting to browse to the first queue I needed, my system trapped hard. Of course, now the actual trap info escapes me <grrr>...

Anybody ever see anything similar? I did clear up a number of oddities I was experiencing when I "converted" my JFS volume back to HPFS (traps during heavy file I/O), but this is another symptom altogether.

TIA
