Correcting my own mail below -
 I misread the file name as MPTCONFIG.INI not MPTCONFG.INI - I do have 
this file, and here is its contents:

[CONTROL]
  Local_IPC = YES
  INET_Access = NO
  NETBIOS_Access = NO

Looks as if it is to do with whether the system should allow remote 
configuration or not - I don't think this is going to change if you have 
changed, for example, your network card.

So in short, don't worry about MPTCONFG.INI
