Correcting my own mail below -
I misread the file name as MPTCONFIG.INI not MPTCONFG.INI - I do have this file, and here is its contents:

[CONTROL]
 Local_IPC = YES
 INET_Access = NO
 NETBIOS_Access = NO

Looks as if it is to do with whether the system should allow remote configuration or not - I don't think this is going to change if you have changed, for example, your network card.

So in short, don't worry about MPTCONFG.INI

Hi Hakan,

 I have no idea what MPTCONFIG.INI is - I do not have it on my system, so I do not believe it is needed to  operate networking.

 I may be a config file to set up how the MPTS  program itself runs I suppose (fonts, colour etc.).

 If this is a text file - what is in it ?

Cheers/2

OK, thanks.  That would be in addition to MPTCONFG.INI mentioned in my
posting.

Protocol.ini and to a lesser extent TCPOS2.INI and IBMLAN.INI depending upon what you have changed.

If I get strange errors at boot up, I find re-running through LANINST in \IBMLAN\Install will often pull the various configuration files back into line with each other.

Also, which files are modified when I change settings in MPTS?
MPTCONFG.INI, PROTOCOL.INI and perhaps some other files?

Hi Lewis,

Where should add this statement?  Thanks.

I have had Genmac for the Intel 2915 working under eCS 1.2MR on my
TP43P before but decided to reinstall the OS.  Apparently there is some
configuration issue I have forgotten because after installing Genmac
and the appropriate driver, the system traps when booting.  BTW, this
is Genmac 2.00 from the netlabs.org site.

Has anyone seen this before and what might the fix be?  Again, I have
had it working at an earlier time...
