Use <ALT>, <F2>/<F3> to display drivers loaded in
CONFIG.SYS during boot time (press while the little
white square shows up in the upper left corner).
Then check when crash occurs.
The GenMAC driver(s) must be loaded before
..\PROTOCOL\NETBIND.EXE.
Also, try to minimize the protocols you are using.
Use only TCP/IP for starters and on only one
interface.
I found that sometimes resource exhaustion in the
driver stack can cause crashes as well.
Did you check with rmview /r that you got no IRQ
conflicts?
Finally, there are many different WiFi miniPCI cards
for Thinkpads out there. You need to make sure yours
is supported by the GenMAC driver (or any other WiFi
driver).
One and the same Thinkpad model can have different
WiFi hardware modules available for them (with
different firmware revisions).
I know that there is a specific driver out there for
Cisco (other than the GenMAC), I think the Belgium
OS/2 BBS has ownership of that one.
But again, different versions of the card might or
might not be supported.
Maybe you should try to switch miniPCI cards?
But if you do that, you need to make sure your TP BIOS
recognises the card, IBM built a checksum routine into
their systems to prevent people from switching cards
randomly.
There is a DOS program out there to patch the TP BIOS
to circumvent that check, but the process is
none-reversable.
