I only use firefox which has no stability problems here.  I have never like
mozilla's email client so I do not use thunderbird.  So the problem may be
between the two programs but the original statement said the problem started
after installing some firefox extensions.

If that is the case then you there appears to be a problem with the mozilla
team for not trying to fix the problem.
