Its not FireFox, its not Thunderbird, ITS A FAULTY OS/2 TCP/IP STACK!
Sorry for the Thread header. I got that one mixed up.
It should have read SOCKET.SYS crash!

Really? Albeit I'm not a clairvoyant it's easy to predict their reaction:
"Eh??? OS/2 ??? Ecs???? What are you talking about???"
The thing is, only mozilla or Seamonkey do offer enough of stability on
the eCS system. For quite a few reasons (not compatible files prefs.js
to begin with) the combination FireFox+Thunderbird always triggers
series of unexpected problems.
I'm repeating this already over 2 years, but nobody wants to listen.
That is what I call ridiculous.
