Other thabs this pricy beast, BENQ-Europe sells 3 projectors (beamers) with integrated wireless at affordable prices (PM770, PB8260, PB8362).

As easely can be understood, these devices do need specific drivers.

Question: is this something we better forget about?

Good question. I've been curious about these things from time to time, myself. I'll do a bit of digging and try to post back over the weekend. Thanks for the pointer, Kris.

To elaborate a bit, when laptop and beamer are cabled to each other, they have to remain rather close to each other. A sheer nuisance, and on top of that rather dangerous if you are acting in a class filles with adolescents (and adults too for that matter).

Also, the new Benq PM770, PB8260, PB8362 do cost about the same price of their predecessors, so in that respect the Acer is a rather expensive add-on. Of course, if you already have a quality beamer it would be a solution.

I didn't give  links to the Benq coz apparently in the USA and UK the devices come on the market without wireless. All links to wireless Benq are in Dutch, French, German, Itaiian as far as I can see.

Nevertheless, no doubt this new technique will take over the cabled one in short a time.
