Although not a wireless question, I again rely on the collective wisdom
of forum members.  After I "suspend" my machine from the
Reboot/Shutdown/Suspend window on eCS, and then wake it up, I have
stripes across the display.  Dragging e.g., the window list around on
the screen gets rid of them but I would rather not have them in the
first place -- is anyone aware of an update to the display driver where
this has been fixed?

Assuming you use SNAP, put

SET SNAP_APM_REPAINT=Y

in your config.sys

Also, is there a difference between "suspend" and "hibernate"?

Hibernate copies the contents of the memory to a special file on your hard rive and then shuts down.  When you resume, the contents are copied back.  It is more secure than just suspend, since if the battery runs out the data is still there.  It is a pig to set up under OS/2 however (on T-series machines at least)
