You can read all about this under Linux (very similar to our situation) at http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/How_to_make_use_of_Power_Management_features. Assume for argument's sake that you're using APM and not ACPI. If you are using the ACPI driver, then I'm not really clear on whether the standalone Hibernation Utility Disk II will work for you or not (beyond creating the partition). It surely would be nice if eCS itself supported the creation of a hibernation file within the bootable partition, but this would require a kernel mod to detect the presence - and state - of the hibernation file (we used to be able to do this; remember the "trapdoor" DOS configuration?) an then reload its contents if last written before shutdown. Another one of those things for the eCS 2.x wishlist, I gues. -- Lewis ------------------------------------------------------------ Lewis G Rosenthal, CNA, CLP, CLE Rosenthal & Rosenthal, LLC Accountants / Network Consultants New York / Northern Virginia www.2rosenthals.com eComStation Consultants www.ecomstation.com Novell Users Int'l www.novell.com/openenterpriseserver Need a managed Wi-Fi hotspot? www.hautspot.com ------------------------------------------------------------
