IBM/Lenovo has quite some info. Try this:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/quickPath.do?quickPathEntry=26475KU
Then, click "User's guides and manuals". The Hardware Maintenance
Manual shows how to replace a mini-PCI pci card, including connecting
the internal WiFi antenna's.
Other links may exactly describe what's in this specific thinkpad and
what's not. I found this support area quite helpful for my T40.
Hope this helps.

I have a T23 model 2647 5KU with no wireless card.
Can anyone tell me if this machine is configured with an antenna and
would accept a mini PCI wireless card if I opened it up? I no longer
have any of the manuals.
