Thanks for the info - and the clarification - , Ed. FWIW, I'm using the VPCAPP driver with my 2915 card, and it does not seem to interfere with GenMAC's proper reading of the ID string. That said, I do not recall whether I tried the new BIOS with or without VPCAPP loaded, so I would have to check to see if it makes a difference, there.

Good luck with your reconfig. We'll be anxiously awaiting news.

Hi Lewis,

In my experience VPCAPP does not affect identification of the card - the only way I have been able to affect the cards identification is by moving the genm32w.os2 driver file location right to the top of Config.sys - otherwise WlanMon identifies the card as being there - it even indicates that three Wifi routers are radiating in my area (I'm guessing two neighbours in addition to mine). The problem comes when trying to connect to my own Access Point. As soon as I removed VPCAPP.SYS from config.sys and rebooted I could connect and communicate via the AP.

My feeling is that Genmac can be affected by the load order of other applications and drivers, so I want to install a minimum configuration and then start adding the less essential applications back in series to see where failure occurs.
