So the system still comes back and says 1802 invalid card or something after you run the fix ? How are you running the fix ? It must be from a bootable DOS diskette with NO card installed in the MINI-PCI slot.
Not really. Can safely be done from an eCS Dos window/fullscreen.
OK.
I wonder why it didn't appear to work then ... Perhaps the Cisco card was in the slot
Most likely.
- but since this is purely a patch, that "shouldn't have" caused a problem.
IIRC you have to remove ANY nic before starting the operation.
That could be the issue then as reference was made to the "cisco card currently in the system".
I wonder if there is more than one version of the 1802patch out there ?
Not likely though ....
The one I used is as follows:
> 27/09/06 17:51 40019 360 1802PTCH.EXE
Obviously the date and time is when I downloaded it from the web, but the size and ea size may validate that we are using the same program.
Feel free to check it out:
http://www.taartenbakkerij.eu/bestanden/no_1802.zip
The file you have IS different - it's a COM program while what I downloaded is a much larger EXE program - it's possible it applied the same change however. The one I used, came from a link within an eBAY sale information text. Not from where I bought my card, but another. It appears that text is no longer there - I can send you the file I have off-list if you want to put it on your website as an alternative to the one you have.
Cheers/2
