As I'm still "CD/DVD burner challenged" on my T43 (those of you present at warpstock may recall that my brother currently has my burner, leaving me with an empty bay - time to pick up a spare drive!), I needed to burn the image on one of my Linux servers using cdrecord. (Truth be told, I much prefer RSJ, but as this was only a 4MB iso, it burned rather quickly, though the finalization took a long time - "fixating" is the cdrecord term.)

You should have asked!  I had a burner in my T23 that you could have
borrowed, or I could have burned it for you!

:-)  Thanks, Julian. The T4x series takes the Slim Ultrabay devices, which are thinner (not as tall) as the Ultrabay 2000 which you have in your T23. No matter; cdrecord just tales longer (and the server is ung-dly slow - fine for what it's doing in White Box Enterprise Linux 3, but as a desktop system, it's pretty bogged!). I've been doing some more iso burning with it throughout the day, and some of the bigger images take a long time. Meanwhile, I almost have Diane's T30 (my old one) set up for her. The Wi-Fi is really stable and performs well (I daresay that the Atheros outperforms the Intel unit I have in the T43 - or at least it feels like it).
