No need to get testy, Kris. Yes, there is a difference between SpeedStep and Enhanced SpeedStep. Until you brought it up, Kris, that wasn't at issue. See http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/SpeedStep for more details on which processors support which SpeedStep versions. The T30 is a Pentium 4-M machine, which supports Enhanced SpeedStep (version 2.2). The 4-M was the first processor to support version 2.2, and the III-M supported Enhanced SpeedStep version 2.1. All earlier models with any SpeedStep at all - AFAIK - were basic SpeedStep machines ONLY. -- Lewis ------------------------------------------------------------ Lewis G Rosenthal, CNA, CLP, CLE Rosenthal & Rosenthal, LLC Accountants / Network Consultants New York / Northern Virginia www.2rosenthals.com eComStation Consultants www.ecomstation.com Novell Users Int'l www.novell.com/openenterpriseserver Need a managed Wi-Fi hotspot? www.hautspot.com ------------------------------------------------------------
