Sorry, Kris, but I have no idea what your response means relative to
the question I asked.

I gave definitely an answer to the question you asked ...
You omitted Rick's comment:

I never had any issues with the fingerprint reader on my T42p.

As I explained clearly, the fingerprint reader at the TP42 is likely to be USB1.1 compatible ...
And, in my question, I don't believe I said anything at all about
"USB".  I asked specifically about "fingerprint reader" and if it does
or does not work.  I felt that Rick's comment implied that he has it
working.

... whereas the fingerprint device at the TP43 (and hence newer) aren't USB 1.1 compatible.  I'm afraid you seldom get an amswer as clear as that to your requests.

For sure the entire USB hardware at the TP43 I had to ditch  was USB2.0 only, and therefore none of my USB devices working at my TP41 worked at the TP43.  To repeat myself again, when an USB2.00 device works at eCS, it could be trough usbehcd.sys, or it could work with one of the 1.1 *.sys drivers because the inbuild USB2.00 controller still is USB1.1 compatible.

And if the latter, if the controller isn't USB 1.1 compatible no longer, eCS just can't cope anymore. As I with the TP43  and some fellows with the T60 have had to learn it the hard way.

I wonder why you guys still keep looking so much at Lenovo Laptops. For after all, some Acer and Dell systems are less eCS unfriendly.
