I gave definitely an answer to the question you asked ...

Your previous response said:

USB devices at the TP42 still were USB1.1 compatible. That changed
for the worst with from the TP43 series on.  Me thinks that explains
the differences in behaviour.

Kris, with all due respect:

Since I asked about FINGERPRINT READER and had NO IDEA that the
Fingerprint Reader is a USB device,
That is to say the least very surprising, as I'm always assuming tech people do know what they are talking about.
I had no clue to connect your 'USB'
comments to 'fingerprint' support...

Now, having cleared up that point, I STILL have the original question:

Assuming that my system DOES support the USB
controllers [1.1 or 2.0]:

IS THERE SUPPORT for the FINGERPRINT reader?

I have repeated now enoumerous times usbehcd.sys doesn't support the fingerprint thing. So, unless the adapter the device is connected to is usb1.1 compatible, the answer is no.

And as other and I have learnt the hard way, from the TP43 series on this kind of gadget might jeopardize an eCS install.
