Hmm...
If I understand what you are saying, eCS is not an issue at all.  It is
all BIOS because it is "used before the boot menu" so there is no
operating system there yet.

OTOH, based on advertising, I thought the reader could be used in place
of almost any password request.  But, maybe that is the special
software that is needed, but not available on eCS?

Thanks for the response.  [Possibly, this whole think is just not worth
the effort to investigate.]
