Have you tried connecting via the wpa-supplicant.exe?

I am not sure how to do this.

Check out the Genmac online help file (guess who wrote this ;-))
Panel: Supporting software - Commandline utilities - section WPA encrypted connections

I found that I can only way I use xwlan to use wpa is to limit the psk to 43 characters though wpa-supplicant allows 63.

Thanks, I was actually using a very short passkey, 10 characters. After changing it to 43 characters, I am now reliably connecting to the
gateway.  The status icon is always green bars and the info box shows
it connected using WPA2-PSK with the correct  LAN & IP address. However, I still cannot communicate with the network.  I can self ping
and get a proper return, but pinging any other box on the net does not
result in returned packets.

Chris, please send PM mail to me (see sig). We can investigate that further.

bye, Christian
