Windows is required only when using the MSN browser Verizon provides. I have successfully connected using Linux and OS/2 systems. The quality of service is excellent. -----Original Message----- From: OS/2 Wireless Users Mailing List [mailto:os2-wireless_users@2rosenthals.com] Sent: Friday, November 24, 2006 11:07 PM To: OS/2 Wireless Users Mailing List Subject: [OS2Wireless]Re: Verizon FIOS &$^(%&%^&*%^ ????? I don't find in the Verizon forum FAQ anything about windows being required. I do note that the firmware on some of thier supplied devices may not be up to date and that you may need to make some changes: http://www.dslreports.com/faq/verizonfios/3.0_Networking Some FIOS areas (NJ is one) not PPoE but plain DHCP service, but that's the router's problem. And I would say that either the router they are using is not properly configured to be DHCP to the LAN or is not acting as a NAT/DHCP device.
