Has anyone had any luck connecting a PPC6700 (USStarcom but sold as Sprint

As a Bluetooth modem?

Is this a question for a mailing list about wireless LAN ? Hmm, I doubt...

bye, Christian

Says OS2 Wireless here, no restriction to LAN.

Ah yes, you got me, Now I am waiting for questions on infrared modems ;-)

Well, the intent of the list (originally, at least) was pretty much as Andy described. That would include Bluetooth, IR, 802.11, and pretty much anything else which could be connected to an OS/2-equipped PC (or other device). These days, we pretty much focus on 802.11, as we don't use much IR, we have no BT support (as yet), and magic wands just don't seem to get us anywhere... ;-)

Now, what you really need to get, Christian, are RFE's for IR modem profiles in XWLAN... Then you can really jump off the roof!!!

As far as this particular subject being on or off topic, if we're talking about a USB-attached phone, then technically, no, as OS/2 isn't involved in the wireless portion of the architecture. If connecting via IR, then yes. That said, we do talk from time to time about those ethernet bridge devices to provide wireless connectivity, and those would essentially fall under the same umbrella as using a wired connection to a cell phone, so I'm not going to squelch the topic at this point.

Thanks for commenting on the appropriateness of the subject mater, however. I wish more people would speak up from time to time. :-)
