There is limited technical information on the more secure HotspotVPN2 product however for HotspotVPN1, the following is stated:

HotSpotVPN-1 is a PPTP VPN and uses 128bit MPPE encryption and is the only VPN service available for your Palm and Pocket PC devices. It is very easy to set up because most operating systems (Windows, OS X) come with a PPTP client already installed. The typical setup takes less than three minutes.

From this I read that a PPTP VPN client is needed (eCS 2.0 comes with one), however the fact that it uses MPPE encryption (whatever that is) suggests that a program to encode / decode this will be required and of course this company wont supply one for OS/2 - eComStation.
