Rick, "access point" is as in "WIRELESS ACCESS POINT."  It's the
'thing' with the antenna that grabs the signal from the air and passes
it to the electronics and then on to the cable that is attached to your
wired LAN.  Totally unrelated to Ad-Hoc or Peer-to-Peer.

Kris, Not necessarily.  There are 'access points' that are pure access
points and have no router function.
