Just a cautionary note. Most wireless PCI cards these days, require a PCI 2.1 compliant
motherboard. I have found that even for Windows units running from the OEM with XP, that
many wireless cards do not work in the cheap older motherboards. Also some wireless chips
have issues with VIA chipsets on the motherboard. Even assuming you find a working chipset
combination as Mark D. provided, it may just be easier to get a bridge/game/ethernet
wireless adaptor for $40-80 dollars, and save yourself a lot of hassel, including opening
the box. It will also give you the ability to use better security like WPA-Personal or
even Enterprise level with TKIP or AES encryption which I believe even the GenMac is not
supporting.
