If I enter java -version I get: java version "1.5.0_07" Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_07-b03) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_07-b03, mixed mode) You can change java.exe with a hex editor, to report the correct version number. At the end of the file you can find the string you need to change. But that doesn't solve your browser problem, the mozilla plugins also need to be updated.
