1. All models of Linksys's WRT54G series, that's 54G v1 - v5, GS (speedbooster 108mps) and GL (Linux based version of v4 wrt54G).
can now be run with third party firmware from DD-WRT.ORG -- there are some restrictions as to which version of the firmware due to
to features and the amount of ram on each device most notable is a WRT54G v5 which has half the ram of a v4, and VXWare in the
firmware. A special version of the DD-WRT firmware aka 'micro' was created with limited capability, but still with WDS function. A
v5 WRT54G requires a bit of hardware modification to be hooked up via a cable for firmware upgrade to DD-WRT but it can be updated
which was once thought not possible. DD-WRT is a linux based firmware, which creates a very highly functional router with what is a
$50 box, features are usually available on much more expensive equipment.

2. WDS = Wireless Distribution System - this allows you to have many AP points in the form of WRT's sharing the same SSID, and
encryption with one 'master' device, usually centrally located among the others. The wireless 'range' is extended with improved
signal strength, seamlessly.

3. Seasoft = a commercial third party firmware that is available for pay, and support fees. DD-Wrt is 'freeware' but donations are
encouraged.
