I have the same problem on a new 1.2 system I just built, so I tried
protofix.cmd on it. Nothing changed. Reading the script, it only makes
changes to protocol.ini and never even looks at ibmlan.ini, where the
problem is.
So what is the problem with IBMLAN.INI? I would like to get this resolved.
At the moment, my ibmlan.ini has blanks after wrknets = and srvnets =, because in MPTS I deleted all adapters. In the [networks] section, there are no entries.
I have had similar problem to yours, in that I had set up a wired adapter on lan0 with tcp/ip and netbios over tcp/ip, and a wireless adapter on lan1 with tcp/ip and netbios over tcp/ip, and could not get peer to work on either. I have been experimenting with various combinations with no success so far.
I am beginning to believe that it is not possible to have netbios over tcp/ip on more than one adapter. I was going to try that when I ran into the problem at boot.
I'll try Frank's recommended protochk.cmd next, although reading the cmd file doesn't look encouraging. Lastly, I'll remove protocol.ini and ibmlan.ini and start over. Or worse, reinstall the os, as the one I am experimenting with was only installed the day before yesterday and I'm not using it for anything other than this experiment, so far.
